Specialist sector expertise
MedTech & Healthcare and Life Sciences
For commercial leaders, sales managers and enablement teams in medical technology, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and animal health — where selling means helping many stakeholders reach a decision they own.
The commercial context
Complex markets need more than product knowledge
- Extended, complex buying cycles across clinical, operational, procurement and finance stakeholders.
- Clinical and technical features that must be translated into economic and customer value.
- Opportunities that appear busy but show little meaningful customer-owned movement.
- Forecasts where optimism outweighs customer evidence.
- Training content that is understood but not reliably applied in customer conversations.
- Sales managers who direct, rescue or review numbers rather than coach thinking and behaviour.
How the methodology helps
Deliberate practice in the moments that matter
Many stakeholders
Widen the Lens and Understand Their World help sellers map who else matters — clinical, operational, procurement and finance — and what matters to each of them.
Value-led selling
Explore Value and Open Up New Thinking help move conversations from clinical and technical features to what meaningful change could be worth to the customer.
Customer-owned momentum
See It Clearly and Create Customer-Led Momentum separate evidence from optimism and focus on what is genuinely changing for the customer.
Manager coaching for consistency
Through Prepare → Coach → Reflect, sales managers coach evidence, judgement and customer-owned movement in live opportunities — rather than simply checking activity.

Anonymised case study — European MedTech
Building commercial capability across European MedTech markets
The challenge
A European business unit within a major global MedTech organisation wanted to strengthen how its sales teams navigated complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities — while keeping development closely connected to everyday selling.
The approach
The Sales Gym Methodology™ was used with around 100 sales professionals, sales managers and sales leaders across multiple European markets and languages. People brought real opportunities into short workouts in small groups, applied what they were learning between sessions and returned to reflect and adapt. A dedicated sales manager coaching programme was added to strengthen coaching capability and reinforce learning.

- Represented by those plans
The c.€20m figure is the potential opportunity value represented by participants’ action plans. It is not realised revenue, and not all of that potential was realised. Commercial performance reflects many contributing factors and should not be attributed to a sales development programme alone.
